The Chinese Government has said that it was not to blame for the
de-industrialisation and less developed state of African countries as
widely believed, saying that this was a result of western media hype.
He pointed out that the de-industrialisation of Africa was as a result of western colonialism and unreasonable economic order, adding that even when "African countries think they are independent, their economic life lines are still controlled by the previous colonial powers."The de-industrialisation of Africa is not as a result of China's activities on the continent. It happened long before African countries began enhanced trade relations with China. It would be recalled that in the 80s and 90s, some western international financial institutions cajoled Africa into adjusting some of its economic structure and privatisation of some of its policies which led to the decline of industries in Africa," he added
Meanwhile, the Chinese government has promised to support Nigeria in the fight against terrorism whenever the latter made the request.
Shaye, who agreed that Nigeria had been under threat of terrorist attack in recent years, sympathised with the government of Nigeria, while also commending her efforts at tracking down the sudden insurgence by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
As long as the Nigerian government raise their request, we will provide our support. This is undoubted", Shaye said.
